Selangor mosques and surau to reopen on Friday

SHAH ALAM: All mosques and surau in Selangor can reopen for Friday prayers and congregati­onal fardhu prayers beginning this Friday. Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddi­n Idris Shah has consented to this after being briefed by the state Health Department, the state Islamic Religious Council and the state Islamic Religious Department on the latest updates about to the Covid-19 situation in the state. The sultan’s private secretary, Datuk Mohamad Munir Bani, in informing this, said the number of congregant­s allowed would depend on the standard operating procedures. “For the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Mosque, the Tengku Ampuan Jemaah Mosque in Bukit Jelutong and the Raja Haji Fisabilill­ah Mosque in Cyberjaya, the number of congregant­s allowed for Friday prayers and congregati­onal prayers is 1,000, not including officers and mosque committee members.”
