KAMPUNG Serumah Daerah Kecil Siburan in Serian, Sarawak, will be placed under a twoweek Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) starting today until March 20 following a hike in the number of Covid-19 cases there.

Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said up to Friday, 416 Covid-19 tests were carried out and 21 new cases were recorded.

“The EMCO will ease the Health Ministry’s duty in conducting tests and close-contact tracing on 580 residents,” he said yesterday.

He said the EMCO imposed on the dormitory, factory and Central Medicare construction site in Hilir Perak, Perak ended yesterday, and the EMCO at the locality would end today.

Ismail Sabri said the Health Ministry conducted 2,074 screenings and 1,650 cases were detected.

“The Health Ministry has confirmed that there is a downward trend in infections there and clusters are under control.

“All cases have undergone treatment and close contacts have been isolated and monitored.”
