King visits vaccination centre at KL Health Clinic
KUALA LUMPUR: Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah visited the Kuala Lumpur Health Clinic, which is both a vaccine storage centre and vaccination centre, to observe the Covid-19 immunisation process yesterday.
He was welcomed by Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah and Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya Federal Territories Health Department director Datuk Dr P. Param Jeeth Singh.
Upon arrival, Sultan Abdullah was briefed on the clinic’s operations by family medicine specialist and Kuala Lumpur Health Clinic head Dr Baizury Bashah.
The king visited the vaccine storage room where the vaccines are kept in ultra-low temperature freezers, before observing the screening station, registration counter, counselling station, vaccination station, post-vaccination monitoring station and second appointment station.
At the vaccination station, the king observed as health workers gave vaccine jabs to two frontliners, environmental health assistant officers Muhammad Asyaraf Zulkifli and Mohd Hafiz Sayuti.
From Feb 25 up to yesterday, 2,490 Kuala Lumpur Health Clinic frontliners have been vaccinated, achieving 99.7 per cent of the target, with six remaining frontliners scheduled to get their jabs today.
The second dose of the vaccine will be rolled out tomorrow.
The king also chatted with people at the clinic before heading for the Sungai Besi vaccination centre.
