UniKL Ladies rule early
Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) Ladies romped to the women’s Malaysia Hockey League title after crushing Sabah 7-0 yesterday.
And the league’s newcomers did it with style, as they still have one match in hand against Young Tigress tomorrow.
The UniKL goals were scored by Khairunnisa Ayuni (fourth), Nuramirah Shakirah Zulkifli (14th, 41st, 50th, 54th), and Nur Atira Ismail (23rd, 29th).
Meanwhile Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UniTen) enjoyed a 131goal fest against Mutiara Juniors yesterday but none of their goal scorers celebrated.
Mutiara had to field Form Three and Form Four players in the women’s Malaysia Hockey League because 15 of their players were unavailable due to examinations.
However Mutiara’s sole scorer in the 10th minute, Allisya Yushira Badri, deserved her ecstatic moment.
Nur Zafirah Aziz, 23, was elated to suddenly see her name among the league’s top scorers. “I missed many today but still I am glad that I tucked away four goals and am now among the league’s top scorers,” said Nur Zafirah.
UiTM’s goals were scored by Nuraslinda Said (second), Nur Insyirah Effarizal (seventh), Nur Zafirah Aziz (11th, 25th, 27th, 36th), Surizan Awang Noh (35th), Nuraslinda Said (40th), Siti Zulaikha Husain (45th), Nurmaizatul Hanim Syafi (46th, 49th), Siti Zulaikha Husain (48th) and Nur Zafirah Aziz (54th).
In another match, Blue Warriors beat Young Tigress 9-0 with goals from Nurfatin Dizana Zaidi
(fourth), Nurul Safiqah Isa (19th), Norhasikin Halim (28th), Nurfatin Dizana Zaidi (40th), Fatin Shafika Sukri (43rd), Nadia Rahman (44th), Norbaini Hashim (51st), Wan Norfaiezah Saiuti (54th, 57th).
