UDA, Bank Muamalat to aid property ownership
KUALA LUMPUR: UDA Holdings Bhd has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Bank Muamalat Malaysia Bhd to promote residential and commercial property ownership.
UDA president and chief executive officer Mohd Salem Kailany said under the MoU, it would develop 14 residential and commercial property projects throughout the country.
He said UDA and Bank Muamalat would assist more people to own properties through the Smart Mortgage-SJKP and Smart Mortgage SRP schemes.
“This is in line with efforts to empower people from all walks of life and entrepreneurs to own properties,” he said at the signing of the MoU yesterday.
Bank Muamalat consumer banking division head Zury Rahimee Zainal Abiden said the bank would provide end-financing for buyers of property projects developed by UDA.
He said this included affordable homes and wakaf projects.
“We aim to disburse RM1 million in loans to UDA property buyers by the end of this year through our Smart MortgageSJKP and Smart Mortgage SRP.”
Bank Muamalat and UDA will organise seminars, roadshows and marketing events nationwide to promote the financing packages and properties.
Among the projects are Legasi Kampung Bharu Residence, Akasia Jubilee Residence and 38 Bangsar Residence Kuala Lumpur. Others are Elevate @ Gravitas and Evoke Condominium in Seberang Prai and Crescent Dew in Bertam, Kepala Batas, Penang; Pisonia Ville and Rosa Terraces in Bandar UDA Utama, Johor Baru; and, the Coast commercial centre in Kemaman and Sarai bungalows at the Kuala Terengganu Golf Resort.
