NWP Holdings Bhd, through its whollyowned NWP Access Sdn Bhd, targets to open two more 3S (sales, service and spare parts) showrooms for motorcycles in Penang and Johor in the next 12 months.

NWP group chief executive officer Datuk Seri Nelson Kee said while still focusing on the Klang Valley area, the company realised the importance of the two states where demand for motorcycles was growing.

“For the next 12 months, we are planning to set up two showrooms in these states. Our target market is the Bottom 40 per cent segment, who are mostly affected by the Covid-19 pandemic and the Movement Control Order. We know these people are looking to generate income via alternative jobs such as food delivery partners.

“We will also explore offering a zero downpayment scheme for the credit sale of 10,000 motorcycles to individuals whose financials are affected by the pandemic,” he said after the opening of the showroom, here, yesterday.

Deputy Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Rosol Wahid officiated at the event.

Kee said the company’s venture into the logistics industry was part of its mission to create new business opportunities in the delivery and motorcycle-related segments for its sustainability.

As such, NWP will supply motorcycles to food and beverage delivery companies, among others.

He said the company had so far sold 15 motorcycles worth RM100,000 at the branch, here.

It targeted to secure sales of RM6 million to RM7 million by year end, he added.

In January, NWP announced it was venturing into a motorcycle programme targeting food delivery riders.

The programme, which has not been finalised, includes competitive pricing as well as zero downpayment for applicants who meet the stipulated conditions.
