Pansar enters construction sector with Perbena Emas acquisition

-

Engineered solutions provider Pansar Bhd yesterday completed the acquisition of Perbena Emas Sdn Bhd to mark the company’s entry into the construction industry.

In line with the acquisition, Pansar will diversify its operations into construction and civil engineering, leveraging Perbena Emas’ 43-year track record in construction and infrastructure development.

Pansar said the acquisition marked a significant milestone for its future growth.

“With the combined earnings potential and the benefits of vertical integration, we envisage the enlarged Pansar becoming a leading player in civil and infrastructure developmen in Peninsular Malaysiat,” it said.

Perbena Emas’ order book stands at RM2 billion to date, including infrastructure projects such as the construction of UNIMAS Teaching Hospital in Kota Samarahan totalling RM485.99 million, and the construction of Batang Lupar 1 Bridge in Samarahan amounting to RM848.75 million.

Both projects are expected to support Perbena Emas’ earnings visibility over the next two to four years.

Combined with Pansar’s existing order book of RM223 million, comprising design, construction, supply, and engineering contracts from its engineering division, the enlarged total secured order book is RM2.2 billion.

Pansar said the construction sector in Sarawak was expected to prosper over the next few years, driven by the RM22 billion spending on infrastructure projects by the state government.
