I have not gone out for two months

-

ALTHOUGH Covid-19 cases are rising, some people are still not following the standard operating procedures of the Movement Control Order (MCO).

Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Negri Sembilan are under the Enhanced MCO (EMCO), meaning that movement is on a needs basis. People are not allowed to visit their relatives or friends.

No social visits, no social calls and no meeting in public places. If you have to go out, make it quick.

Get your job done and be back home with the least human contact. A minister was fined recently for visiting the home of a former leader.

But I hear of people throwing caution to the wind. Some are celebrating birthdays and wedding anniversaries at home with relatives and friends.

A few wild birthday parties were busted by the police when they were tipped off by neighbours.

The risk of you and your loved ones being infected by letting outsiders into the house is huge.

I have not gone out for at least two months. The two times I had gone out was for my first vaccination dose and the other was when I was called on an emergency task.

I am fortunate as my wife does the cooking and we buy our groceries and necessities online.

As for church attendance, I watch the service through a Facebook link on Sundays.

I am a thrifty person. It’s also better to buy things online as there are offers.

Stay home. It’s better to be safe than sorry.
