SJMC named ‘Malaysia Hospital Company of the Year’
KUALA LUMPUR: The Subang Jaya Medical Centre (SJMC) has won the “Malaysia Hospital Company of the Year” award at the Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific Best Practices Awards last week.
SJMC, part of the Ramsay Sime Darby Health Care Group, was recognised for its excellence in three areas (transformative mega trends, disruptive technologies, and innovative business models), which Frost & Sullivan deems as “imperatives” in the digital health industry.
SJMC chief executive officer Trish Hogan said the award was a testament to SJMC’s years of being a trailblazer with multiple firsts in the industry and a deep commitment to exemplary cancer care and high patient care standards.
“As part of Ramsay Sime Darby Health Care, SJMC’s dedicated team of doctors and staff will remain steadfast in serving the community by working through challenging circumstances to provide excellent healthcare services both locally and internationally,” she said in a statement yesterday.
Among SJMC’s achievements is the launch of next-generation sequencing to enable targeted cancer therapies.
The hospital also launched telehealth services for patients amid the Covid-19 pandemic to give online consultations and support sessions, including speech therapists and clinical psychologists.
Additionally, the hospital has the Joint Commission International accreditation and certification, which is recognised as a global standard for superior quality of healthcare and patient safety.
Frost & Sullivan healthcare and life sciences research manager Siddharth Shah said SJMC had lived up to its reputation of being the standard-bearer for quality care in Malaysia.
