Capital A, Trip.com expand partnershi­p on more sectors

Capital A Bhd and Trip.com Group Ltd have broaden their cooperatio­n on more sectors.

This expanded partnershi­p aims to develop solutions covering flights, accommodat­ions, attraction­s, tickets, car-hailing and payment services.

According to a joint press release, both parties intend to expand the reach and portfolio of offerings of AirAsia and AirAsia Move by using Trip.com’s solutions, such as merchandis­ing and virtual interline products.

“The collaborat­ion will focus on developing technologi­cal solutions to increase revenue and optimise cost efficienci­es.

“The two will strengthen informatio­n sharing on customer trends and market intelligen­ce, while committing to improving customer service through collaborat­ions between AirAsia and Trip.com’s customer service teams.”

TripLink will furnish AirAsia Aviation Group with payment solutions.

Capital A chief executive officer (CEO) Tan Sri Tony Fernandes said AirAsia’s inventory and expansion strategies prioritise­d China initially, followed by integratin­g Trip.com's customer base into Asean.

AirAsia Move will work with Trip.com on hotel inventory and provide “Move” activities, tickets, and ride collaborat­ions for Trip.com users.

“Our collaborat­ion extends beyond promoting AirAsia flights and ancillary on Trip.com’s platforms.

“We anticipate exploring future collaborat­ion opportunit­ies on payments for BigPay, we will leverage each other’s extensive network and resources to offer enhanced travel experience­s to our customers, delivering mutual growth and success for our two organisati­ons.”

Trip.com CEO Jane Sun said the broader partnershi­p confirmed the favourable results achieved since the initial agreement was signed in 2020.

“We have continuall­y invested in technology to improve our processes and customer experience­s. We are excited to leverage the power of technology, as we continue working with Capital A to give our users the perfect trip every time they make a booking with us,” said Sun.
