-

The bodyguard shot at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 1 arrival hall on Sunday will undergo another operation today.

Siti Noraida Hassam, 38, said her husband, who is at Cyberjaya Hospital, was unconscious and his condition had not stabilised.

“The bullet hit his intestines and the bleeding hasn’t stopped.

“The doctor said to wait for the bleeding to stop and for his condition to stabilise before undergoing another surgery expected tomorrow (today),” she said when contacted.

Muhammad Nur Hadith, also known as Along, was shot while protecting his employer, Farah Md Isa.

Speaking about the moment she heard something had happened to her husband, Siti Noraida said she initially thought he had suffered a high blood pressure episode due to fatigue.

She said they had just returned from celebrating Hari Raya in Pahang before her husband had to report for duty at 11pm the previous night.

“When I was informed that he was shot while attempting to block shots fired by a man, it came as a shock,” she said.

She said she had received a phone call from Cyberjaya Hospital at 2am, informing her about her husband’s condition.

“His condition is critical and surgery needs to be performed within the next 24 or 48 hours. (I) hope everything goes well.”

She said she had three children aged between 3 months and 13 years.

She added that her husband was assigned as a part-time personal bodyguard before Ramadan and had accompanied the suspect’s wife to court for divorce proceedings.

“My husband works as a security guard at a media company and works as a personal bodyguard only part time.”

She said her husband’s duty was only to escort and that he was unarmed.

In the 1.20am incident, a man fired two shots at his wife at the entrance of the arrival hall but missed. One of the shots hit the wife’s bodyguard.
