Em pirical Atlas

This exhibition by 15 internatio­nal artists focuses on the relationsh­ip between identity and politics, as well as globalisat­ion, material production and consumer culture. The artworks showcase each artist’s response to the aftermath of an empire, created by new cartograph­ies and systems of knowledge presented today. The 6th Asian Art Biennial

For the first time in more than a decade, the biennial is organised by one in-house and three foreign curators. Themed Negotiatin­g The Future, the works comprise a riotous profusion of forms, such as paintings, installati­ons, images and workshops. The exhibits serve as the epitome of contempora­ry artistic diversity and seek to address the recent events and latent tensions in Asia. Pa inting with Light Film Festival

Look at art through the lens of a range of film screenings on the weekends of October at Singapore’s National Gallery. Art Taipei

One of Asia’s longest-running art fairs, Art Taipei returns for its 24th edition. This year, the focus is on the rise of private art museums, which will be investigat­ed via exhibition­s, lectures and other programmes held during the fair.
