This exhibition by 15 international artists focuses on the relationship between identity and politics, as well as globalisation, material production and consumer culture. The artworks showcase each artist’s response to the aftermath of an empire, created by new cartographies and systems of knowledge presented today. The 6th Asian Art Biennial
For the first time in more than a decade, the biennial is organised by one in-house and three foreign curators. Themed Negotiating The Future, the works comprise a riotous profusion of forms, such as paintings, installations, images and workshops. The exhibits serve as the epitome of contemporary artistic diversity and seek to address the recent events and latent tensions in Asia. Pa inting with Light Film Festival
Look at art through the lens of a range of film screenings on the weekends of October at Singapore’s National Gallery. Art Taipei
One of Asia’s longest-running art fairs, Art Taipei returns for its 24th edition. This year, the focus is on the rise of private art museums, which will be investigated via exhibitions, lectures and other programmes held during the fair.
