This friendly neighbourhood restaurant has been a staple for residents of Bangsar, Bukit Damansara and Bukit Tunku for years, but first-timers might have trouble spotting the nondescript staircase located on a row of shophouses. Leonardo’s rambling menu stands in stark contrast to the specialised offerings of today’s conceptual eateries, but the restaurant proves that quantity and quality can coexist. For a great prelude to dinner, tables of two can order the pork satay; larger groups should kick off their meal with the pork knuckle platter. Do take a chance with the Kentucky fried frog—served piping hot, the crispy snack goes down well with a frosty mug of beer. Meat lovers will relish tearing into the Spanish Iberico pork ribs, but those who want a break from meat can opt for the oven-baked Chilean cod, a melt-in-your-mouth delight. Sweet relief comes by way of Forty Licks ice cream, which contains zero additives or preservatives.
