Lucky Bo
Nestled in a quiet, well-heeled neighbourhood, Lucky Bo need not try to win over clients, as regulars flow into the restaurant every evening of the week, Mondays included. Largely unseen in KL, the servers are particular about timing, so as to not compromise the temperature of the dishes, and to set a comfortable pace for customers’ enjoyment. While we were enamoured by the grilled Spanish octopus salad doused in roasted red pepper coulis, the deep-fried wasabi prawns encased in shredded kataifi reminded us of Chinese wedding fare. The main attraction, the Wagyu tomahawk, is transported straight from the josper grill to your table before being skilfully sliced by the wait staff. Each marbled morsel has the perfect ratio of meat and fat—au jus and mustard is unnecessary. But that isn’t all—while you savour your Marble 5 grade beef, the kitchen will prepare a plate of char kuey teow using reserved fat from the said Wagyu.
TATLER TIP
Touted as the best-value steakhouse in town, Lucky Bo stocks tomahawks of varying sizes. The lightest one weighing 1.5kg comfortably serves three.
