While Chinese cuisine is anywhere and everywhere in Ipoh, pinpointing the good stuff proves harder, hence our approval of this Chinese restaurant in the Weil Hotel. Lured by an endless stream of juicy dumplings and steaming bowls of congee, a crowd congregates here for the weekend dim sum buffets. Tack on the signature smoked duck with lychee wood, which beats even KL’S best poultry dishes; each smokey bite confirms this thought. Other signature dishes include the stir-fried asparagus with fresh lily buds and white truffle oil (delicious), and the Chinese-style scotch egg (slightly dry for our liking). And be sure to shoot Chef Allan Tse a smile when he pops out of kitchen to check in on guests.
