WHY GO
An open kitchen provides the atmosphere and aromas of the Middle East to pique the appetite for a colourful, flavourful and tasty journey of Lebanese cuisine here.
A colourful menu with lots of photos of popular Lebanese dishes is offered for those who may be unfamiliar with food from this part of the world. Portion sizes are generous with signature dishes being hummus moutabal, hot mezze platter and various grills.
Moutabal is a creamy aubergine hummus made from sesame seed paste and made even more delicious with the addition of lemon juice and pomegranate. Freshly baked flat pita bread accompanies the dish and several others. Al-amar’s tabbouleh of cracked wheat, onions, tomatoes and parsley is tasty and healthy as well as decoratively served.
For something more substantive, order either a half or whole grilled spicy chicken. Satisfy the carb craving with the mixed shawarma platter that comes with more pita bread and a generous topping of French (Lebanese) fries. Desserts are traditional Lebanese favourites of baklava, Lebanese ice cream and rosewater and milk pudding.
