Tatler Dining Malaysia

WHY GO

-

A good spot for family and group dinners, especially if you go early and catch some of the sunsets that Kota Kinabalu is famous for.

The pleasantly light and aptly named Peppino salad is a good choice of starter. It consists of large prawns and organic greens tossed well in the chef’s vinaigrette with confit onions and cherry tomatoes.

Meaty mains such as the New Zealand lamb loin and the 200 day-old Australian chilled black Angus beef ribeye come in large portions and are served with market vegetables; their signature sauces are placed separately to allow one the luxury to savour the flavour of the meat by itself. The lamb loin is succulent and tender while the ribeye, done medium rare, is equally juicy, flavourful and tender – everything one might love of a good steak. The sauce, though slightly peppery, complements the beef well.

A great way to end a delightful evening is with the signature tutto ciocolato – hot chocolate fondant with banana ice cream and moist chocolate cake. It’s a lovely feast for one’s eyes and palate.
