Hard work and caution can help to overcome threats, challenges – Wong
KOTA KINABALU: The threats and challenges this year can be overcome with hard work and caution, said Sze Yi Association West Coast, Sabah president Datuk Susan Wong Siew Guen.
Wong said many believed that the year came with impending threats and challenges brought about by the economy, which has even prompted the government to revise the national budget.
"In the Year of the Monkey, I believe that we can get through the challenges smoothly, perhaps with even more fruitful outcomes, so long as we work hard and practise caution."
Wong said there would always be light at the end of the tunnel if people were willing to change in the face of adversity.
"Better times await us if we are united and help each other."
At the same time, Wong assured members that the association would strive to ensure their welfare would not be compromised in the current economy.
She said this at the Sze Yi Association West Coast, Sabah Chinese New Year celebration here yesterday.
