KUALA LUMPUR: Technology and engineering giant Siemens Malaysia has signed a long-term maintenance agreement with Lotte Chemical Titan to service and maintain three gas turbine units.

The three gas turbine units are currently operating at two Lotte Chemical Titan plants located in Johor, including two units at the Pasir Gudang plant and one in Tanjung Langsat.

Siemens Malaysia President and Chief Executive Officer Prakash Chandran said the two plants are vitally important to the Johor region.

"Through our strong local presence, we intend to work very closely with Lotte Chemical Titan to help ensure its power generation and mechanical drive equipment operates with high levels of efficiency, availability and reliability," he said in a statement yesterday.

Prakash said Siemens is committed to creating value for its customers through improved offerings, by using the best people, processes and technology available.

Under the long-term agreement, Siemens will help ensure safe and reliable operations over the lifecycle of the two Lotte Chemical Titan plants by providing overhaul and reconditioned spare parts; emergency and critical spare parts delivery; round-the-clock help desk support with remote assistance for trouble shooting, as well as the mobilisation of field services, for a term of seven years.

Lotte Chemical Titan will use the team of highly-experienced Siemens power generation service professionals here in Malaysia as well as in Sweden.
