Harry Styles chooses music over acting, plans to open curry eatery in the US
HARRY Styles has chosen a solo career over acting.
Although the One Direction singer has been tipped for Hollywood success while the boyband is on hiatus, Harry has reportedly decided he wants to focus on music and enlisted the help of 1D songwriter Jamie Scott to help him compete with Zayn Malik.
A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “Harry is aware he was the most popular member of the band but is determined not to end up in a Robbie WilliamsGary Barlow situation or play second fiddle to Zayn.
“Zayn beat Harry out of the traps by getting his solo material out first but Harry is confident playing the long game will pay off.
“Unlike Zayn, Harry doesn’t want to stray too far and alienate the 1D fan base – but he does want to make his own mark.
“Jamie knows how to write a song that suits Harry’s voice.”
Zayn quit One Direction in March, nine months before they went on hiatus and recently had a worldwide number one with his debut solo single ‘Pillowtalk’.
His album ‘Mind of Mine’ will be released on Mar 25, exactly one year after he walked out on the band.
In the meantime, Harry misses his local curry house so much he is planning to help the owner to open one in the US.
The singer was a regular customer of Wasel Ali’s Paradise in Hampstead, north London, but as he is now based in Los Angeles, Harry is keen for the curry house owner to follow him across the Atlantic.
Other regulars at the London eatery include model Kate Moss and comedian Rowan Atkinson, as well as All Saints singers Nicole and Natalie Appleton.
A source told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: “They have all encouraged Wasel to open an LA branch because they always moan there are so few decent curry houses in California.
“Finally, he is considering it and Harry has been in contact offering to show the team around possible locations.
“Whenever he’s back in the UK and pops in to Paradise, Harry always says how much he missed the food in LA.”
The musician reportedly plans to show Ali around possible sites for his restaurant in April.
Harry, 22, has based himself in Los Angeles while One Direction are on a hiatus and he is working on solo material.
