Zahid’s daughter says she earned pocket money as student

-

PETALING JAYA: Datuk Nurulhidayah Ahmad Zahid has fired another shot at her critics who told her to take up low-paying menial jobs.

Nurulhidayah, daughter of Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, said she had worked at a food court to earn pocket money and at a production house to gain experience.

“When I was in school I worked at the food court of Jaya Jusco Alpha Angle, Wangsa Maju because I wanted more pocket money.

“On semester holidays I worked with a production house for the experience. You guys can’t just speak as you like because I also have a voice and can speak,” Nurulhidayah said on her Instagram account.

Nurulhidayah went on to say that she was “also an ordinary commoner,” receiving a paycheck of RM1,700 as a fresh graduate.

“What do you mean by rakyat? I am also rakyat. I do not belong to any palace or royal family,” said Nurulhidayah.

“So please, instead of me being in your shoes, you be in my shoes. Lots of problems need collective solutions, and not collective nuisance,” she said.

She defended her father saying he was making comments based on his experiences.

“Compared to his time in the 70s, Malaysians are now very choosy and lazy when it comes to work,” Nurulhidayah added.
