18 beauties vie to be Miss Cheongsam at grand finals
KUCHING: TheMissCheongsam Malaysia 2016 grand finals will take place at Century Hotel Kuching (formerly Four Points by Sheraton) starting 7pm on Feb 20.
The 18 contestants from all over the country are now in Kuching and making preparations for the pageant.
Now in its 26th consecutive year, the purpose of this annual community and charitable event was to celebrate Chinese New Year, promote Chinese culture and foster friendship.
The contestants are Valent Woo Wan Thing (Seremban), Cindy Ong Xin Ni (Melaka), Jocelyn Chong Ik Tze (Kuching), Roseanne Tay Lu Xian (Labuan), Angela Khoo Yin Yin (Georgetown), Hayley Yeap Hui Yin (Ipoh), Anny Wong Wei Wei (Sibu), Hera Tan Pei Yu (Johore Bahru), Melissa Wong Meng Ting (Kuala Lumpur), Melinda Lee Chen Ling (Kuala Lumpur), Fedora Ng Kai Hong (Johore Bahru), Ng Shu Vern (Alor Setar), Jouve Koid Sean Yee (Butterworth), Dior Lam Ying Ting (Ipoh), Angel Chin Qiu Hui (Miti), Natasha Lee (Kota Kinabalu), Jassy Foo (Labuan),and Sharon Chew Mei Hiong (Kota Kinabalu).
The winner will receive RM5,000 cash, first runner-up RM2,000, while second runnerup RM1,000. The third and fourth runner-up get RM800 and RM500 respectively.
There are five subsidiary titles: Best Cheongsam Wear to get RM500, Miss Talent (RM300), Miss Personality (RM300), Miss Photogenic (RM300) and Miss Friendship (RM300).
