Curtin ranked 26th most international university
MIRI: Curtin University was recently ranked the 26th most international university in the world and second in Australia on the Times Higher Education list of top 200 most international universities.
The list ranks universities by key aspects of internationalisation such as on-campus diversity and global academic collaborations.
Curtin vice-chancellor Professor Deborah Terry said the results reflect the university’s position as one of the most outward-looking institutions in the world.
“I am delighted that Curtin’s collaboration with global partners and capacity to attract academics and students from around the world has been recognised in this way,” she said.
She said it would ensure Curtin students graduate with the skills and experience required to participate effectively in a globalised workforce.
Meanwhile, Curtin Sarawak pro vice-chancellor Professor Jim Mienczakowski said Curtin’s standing among the most international universities is important recognition for any future students seeking to gain a top-class international qualification.
“It means that Curtin’s efforts to provide world-class education, service and opportunities to international and domestic students has been recognised globally,” said Mienczakowski.
Curtin University in Australia currently has over 15,000 students enrolled from more than 115 countries, making it the fourth largest international student population of any Australian university.
The Sarawak campus has 4,000 students from 45 countries and staff from 15 countries.

Classes for its undergraduate courses commence on Feb 29 while the foundation courses will start on March 28.
