KOTA KINABALU: This year’s MATTA Fair will be organized from May 6 to 8 at Suria Sabah Shopping Mall here.

The organizing committee hopes to sell 150 booths to MATTA members, airlines, hotels, national tourism organisations (NTOs), banks and travel related industry players.

“Fifty booths will be allocated to Sabah’s inbound tour agents at a special discounted price to encourage their participation,” said MATTA Sabah Chapter chairman Robert Chong.

He said the organizer hoped their presence in the number one travel fair would help to promote and sell their domestic tourism products.

He added that among the NTOs, the Indonesian and Taiwan Tourism would once again participate in this year’s fair.

“Indonesian Tourism will also perform during the fair.

“As in the previous years, Cosmopoint College of Technology will again feature in the fair to give opportunity and exposure to their students,” he said.

Chong said during the three-day fair, visitors could purchase discounted air fares, attractive tour packages to both local and overseas destinations.

With a minimum purchase of RM500, visitors are entitled to a lucky draw contest which will be drawn on the last day at 9.30pm.

Among the prizes are airline tickets, free tour packages, hotel vouchers and many more.

The fair will be officiated by Culture, Tourism and Enviroment Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Masidi Manjun on May 6 at 2pm.
