Malindo Air collaborat­es with ERL for check-in services

KUALA LUMPUR: Malindo Air, in collaborat­ion with Express Rail Link (ERL), yesterday announced the commenceme­nt of the airline’s new KL Sentral’s city check-in services.

In a joint statement yesterday, the companies said, the collaborat­ion was to facilitate and give convenienc­e to their customers who will now be able to check-in at the KL Ekspres Departure Hall.

The statement said the check-in could be done at least three hours before their flights and the customer’s luggage could be checked through to their final destinatio­n.

“The cut-off time of three hours before departure would be necessary to facilitate their check-in baggage transfer to Kuala Lumpur Internatio­nal Airport (KLIA),” it said.

It said the travellers needed to buy the KLIA Ekspres train ticket to use this dedicated services.

The passengers will also be offered discounted fares on KLIA Ekspres at RM40 (one way) for each passenger with a minimum purchase of three tickets, it said.

“The ticket fares are usually priced at RM55 (one way),” it said.

Malindo Air Chief Executive Officer, Chandran Rama Muthy, said the city check-in services that were being offered were another milestone for the companies as they had build a stronghold in Kuala Lumpur.

Chandran said with a travelling time of only 28 minutes on ERL Ekspres and the train would depart every 15 minutes, it was definitely another convenient and hassle-free travel experience with Malindo Air.

“The travellers can then board the KLIA express train to KLIA hassle-free without the checked-in baggage in tow, and bypass check-in queues at KLIA,” he said.

Chandran said Malindo Air will also be opening KL Sentral’s city ticketing office soon.

Malindo Air’s KL Sentral check-in counter will be opened daily from 5.00am until 10.00pm, and for flight check-in at KL Sentral, proceed to the KLIA Ekspres Departure Hall, located within the KL City Air Terminal, he said. — Bernama
