5th Sabah Strongest men challenge over the weekend at Padang Merdeka

KOTA KINABALU: The public, especially extreme sports fans, are urged to come and witness the 5th Sabah Strongest men (OKS) challenge at the Padang Merdeka here this weekend.

The two-day event will feature six discipline­s where the opening day will see participan­ts taking on the 500kg Tyre Flip, 54kg – 75kg Circus Dumbell and the Last Man Standing Deadlift (260kg, 300kg, 330kg, 365kg and 380kg).

Contestant­s then will return the next day to tackle some heavyweigh­t stuffs namely the Bus/ Truck Pull where they are required to pull a 10 to 15 KUALA LUMPUR: Kedah topped the Super League table after a 1-0 victory over Kelantan at the Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium, Saturday night.

“We are calling for the local public to witness the actions and challenges... the discipline­s will start as early as 9am on Saturday (Feb 25),” said organiser Casero Events Managing Director, Steve Johnny Mositun here yesterday.

Steve went on to say that the Strongestm­en Fun Run in conjunctio­n with the event will take place at the same venue on February 26.

“The Fun Run aims to bring some fun to children from selected orphanage four goals coming through Joseph Kalang Tie (66th minute), Brazilian import Matheus Alves Leandro (73rd) and Mohamad Ashari Samsudin (84th and 85th) to complete the rout.

At the Perak Stadium in Ipoh, the home team defeated defending champions Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) 2-1.

‘The Boss Gaurus’ squad began the match strongly with their Palestinia­n import Yashir Armando Pinto Islame scoring in the seventh minute only to see the Southern Tigers equalise through striker Ahmad Hazwan Bakri just two minutes later.

Both sides traded attacks throughout the match, but Perak got the upper hand when Bulgarian import player Vladislav Mitkov Mirchev put the home side ahead again in the 75th minute, which was good enough to claim all three points at the final whistle.

T-Team, meanwhile, failed where they will also be receiving goodies and hampers.

“They will also get to meet the Strongmen contestant­s and hopefully this will bring cheer and joy to them,” he said.

“There will also be lucky draws for the Fun Run participan­ts and, while waiting for it, they will be able to watch the actions of the main event,” he added.

Kedah top of Super League table, Pahang enjoy goal fest
