Beneficial TN50 Dialogue ideas to be implemented promptly — Khairy

KUALA LUMPUR: Ideas produced at the 2050 National Transformation Dialogues (TN50) could be implemented immediately after been studied by the TN50 Future Group, says Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin.

Khairy said the matter was announced by Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak after the prime minister launched the five selected official TN50 logos as well as the announcement of the TN50 Future Group yesterday.

“Just now the prime minister told me, part of the ideas that had gone through the TN50 process especially the Future Group could be implemented with immediate effect and will be announced in Budget 2018.

“Apart from that, I would say the prime minister also considered the process as an effort for us to build our future to face all possibilities,” he told reporters yesterday.

Najib yesterday launched the TN50 Future Group, symbolising TN50 had entered the second phase since January this year.

According to a Youth and Sports ministry statement, the group which comprised 84 youths and 60 mentors from various backgrounds would be responsible to analyse and study the aspirations of youths received in the TN50 Dialogue series earlier.

Besides that the group would also assist to translate the aspirations received into future direction proposals from the youth perspective to ensure they are accepted as part of the programme formation and government policy.

Meanwhile Khairy said all findings obtained from all groups would be compiled as the Youth Report, which he would hand over to the TN50 unit under the Economic Planning Unit of the Prime Minister’s Department as the foundation of the TN50 Policy Document next year. - Bernama
