Shophouse owners lodge report with MACC

-

KUCHING: Five MJC Batu Kawah New Township shophouse owners lodged a report with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) yesterday.

They claimed that the developer is inappropriately using the management fee account.

Shophouse owner Liew Ngian Chin alleged that the management fee account "is not clear and transparent".

Liew also claimed the developer has declined to show the accounts to shophouse owners despite their numerous requests.

The group was accompanied by Bandar Kuching Member of Parliament Chong Chieng Jen, who said he had written to the developer requesting for an audit of the management fee account before deciding to file the formal report.

"The shophouse owners do not mind paying the management fee but they want to know where their money has gone to because the maintenance is poor and hardly anyone sweeps the floor and there are no security personnel," Chong claimed.
