Police report against Papagomo

-

LIMBANG: The remarks by blogger Papagomo or Wan Muhammad Azri Wan Deris, 33, over the polemic between federal Minister of Tourism and Culture Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz and state Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah had angered the people particularly in northern Sarawak.

Youth chief of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Bukit Kota, Sufian Mohat, said the statement made by Papagomo had downgraded the dignity of Sarawak’s leaders and the people of Sarawak.

“Papagomo’s statement is baseless and not true.

“This shows that he didn’t have in-depth knowledge on Sarawak,” he said after making a police report on Papagoma’s statement posted in Facebook account Sir Azri at the Limbang Central Police Station yesterday.

Among the remarks that Papagoma made in the Facebook page which had gone viral was “there is no question about the beauty and rich resources in Sarawak. You are poor and lagging behind not because we in Semenanjung Malaysia robbed you of your resources and revenue. You Sarawakians failed to manage Sarawak despite large sums of funds given by the Federal Government including for the Pan Borneo Highway. Comparatively, even Sabah is far advanced and Sarawak is even lagging behind Sabah”.

Sufian, who is also Walikota of Limbang District Council (LDC), thus wanted legal action to be taken against him, adding Papagomo is among individuals banned from entering Sarawak.

“Papagomo should also know that Sarawak and Sabah had jointly with Malaya formed Malaysia and thus he should respect the sensitivity of Sarawakians and not issue statements that could disunite the people,” he added.
