KUALA LUMPUR: Mass Rapid Transit Corp Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) has awarded a RM342.18 million works package to IJM Construction Sdn Bhd for the MRT Sungai Buloh-SerdangPutrajaya (SSP) Line.

In a statement yesterday, MRT Corp said, the contract was for the construction and completion of elevated stations and other associated works at Sri Delima, Kampung Batu, Kentonmen and the halfsunken station at Jalan Ipoh.

Seven companies submitted tenders for the project under the open category, it said.

"IJM Construction is also the works package contractor for the construction of the elevated guideway and other associated works from Jinjang to Jalan Ipoh North Escape Shaft.

"The four stations that IJM Construction will be building under the newly awarded contract are located along this stretch," it said.

MRT Corp said previously, IJM Construction was awarded two contracts under the MRT Sungai Buloh-Kajang (SBK) Line.

Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Seri Shahril Mokhtar, said IJM Construction has a lot of experience working on the MRT project and this would be invaluable as it proceeded with the latest contract.

"I believe they will maintain their very good track record and will give their best to perform well for the SSP Line Project," he said, adding IJM was selected on the basis of best evaluated tender based on their technical, commercial, legal and financial evaluation.
