LAHAD DATU: A 29-year-old man was stabbed to death by his brother-in-law at Kampung Sabah Baru, yesterday.

The victim, identified as Ronston Tunai, was sleeping in the living room of his in-laws’ house when he was stabbed by his brother-in-law, who was suspected to be under the influence of drugs.

The complainant, who was in the house with the victim and the suspect, heard a noise from the living room and went to check.

The complainant later saw the suspect stabbing the victim and immediately stopped the suspect but failed and the suspect continued to stab the victim.

The victim managed to flee the house but the suspect chased after him. Villagers who witnessed the incident immediately apprehended the suspect before taking him to the police station.

He said the victim was taken to the hospital, arriving at 4.15pm but was pronounced dead at 5.20pm.

There was one stab wound in his neck, four stab wounds in his chest and two stab wounds in his back, Fadzil said, adding that the case was being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
