Repsol breaks fast with orphans, special children

LABUAN: Repsol Oil & Gas Malaysia Limited showed its generous spirit of Ramadhan when it feted some 60 orphans and special children to a sumptuous breaking of fast evening at the Dorsett Grand Hotel here on Monday night.

In conjunctio­n with the gathering, these special guests were also presented with door gifts and duit raya.

Omar Abdul Rahman who spoke on behalf of Repsol's management, disclosed that this year marked the third consecutiv­e year that Repsol was organizing this breaking of fast ceremony with the orphans and special children in Labuan.

He expressed hope that the duit raya would help to give additional cheer and joy during this Ramadhan and the coming Hari Raya Aidil Fitri celebratio­n.

Besides the orphans and special children, Repsol's key stakeholde­rs were also in attendance. Among those present were the director of Labuan Welfare Department, Ishak bin Awangku Abdul Rahman, director of Education Labuan, Raisin bin Saidin, and director of Malaysian Maritime Enforcemen­t Agency in Labuan, Maritime Captain Che Adnan bin Md Isa.

Omar thanked the Labuan Welfare Department for its assistance in bringing along the children, who are hailed from both Muslim and non-Muslim background.

“This shows the spirit of sharing in a harmonious society,” he reiterated.
