Expedite construction of new haemodialysis ward for Tenom hospital — MP
TENOM: Tenom member of parliament Datuk Raime Unggi has urged the authorities concerned, specifically the Health Ministry, to expedite the construction of a new haemodialysis ward in the district hospital here for the convenience of kidney patients to undergo treatment.
He said this is due to the increasing number of patients seeking and receiving treatment as the present treatment room is small and narrow.
According to Raime, several other aspects also needed to be addressed by the Health Ministry, such as men and women's wards and the maternity ward in the hospital which should be upgraded by increasing the number of beds and medical equipment and specialist doctors.
“The government, I believe, has allocated more than RM3 million to upgrade several buildings in the emergency and trauma department and the outpatient unit in this hospital for the convenience of the public and patients,” he told reporters during the Ramadan pilgrimage program at the hospital yesterday.
The program, Raime said, is an annual event during Ramadan under the corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative of the Badan Dakwah Islam Tenom, which is aimed at reaching out to the people, especially those suffering from illness, so that they did not feel left out during celebrations.
In conjunction with the visit, Raime also presented an annual grant aid through his parliamentary allocation of RM3,000 to Kelas Bimbingan Saudara Kita (KBSK) Tenom.
