Rightpower unveils new Hyundai models

KOTA KINABALU: Rightpower Corporatio­n Sdn Bhd unveiled the all-new sixth generation Hyundai Elantra and its new Hyundai Tucson 1.6L Turbo GDI (T-GDI) Petrol Engine Variant.

Rightpower Corporatio­n District Manager Victor W.T. Fong said that the all-new new Elantra set a new standard in its segment with new levels of sophistica­tion applied to its interior and exterior as well as a platform.

The said platform would deliver a new level of ride comfort with smooth, precise handling and enhanced safety.

“The Elantra is ranked among the top ten best-selling model in the world, and achieved global cumulative sales of more than 10 million units since the introducti­on of the first generation in 1990,” Victor said.

The new and upgraded Elantra is equipped with the new Fluidic 2.0 Design Concept, which aims to give drivers a dynamic precision.

It also has an incredible new powerful powertrain, which reaches NU2.0 MPI and Gamma 1.6 T-GDI.

The car will also be armed with 53% of Advanced High-Strength Steel, an increase of 32% as compared to its predecesso­r.

Thus, the car will be able to offer improvemen­t in its torsional stiffness, ultra-rigid chassis and bending resistance strength.

Vincent explained that the car had also been revamped in terms of its comprehens­ive safety features.

These incredible safety features include, a Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Hill-start Assist Control, six airbags, Emergency Fastening Device and a Blind Spot Detection system (applicable for Elantra Sport only.

On top of that, the drivers of the new Elantra will also be enjoying various intelligen­t technology and convenient features.

“These will include a Handsfree Smart Trunk, an AV System that Supports Android Auto and Car Play, a rear camera, an Auto Cruise Control Option and a Front and Rear Parking Assist system,” Vincent said.

The Elantra is available in three variants, namely the 2.0 MPI Executive, the 2.0 MPI Dynamic and the Elantra Sport.

These variants are priced at RM122,008.44, RM126, 316.03 and RM137, 515.08, respective­ly and are on-the-road prices with insurance.

As mentioned, the new 1.6L Turbo GDI (T-GDI) Petrol Engine variant of Hyundai's compactSUV, Tucson, was also launched yesterday.

Similar to the Elantra, the Tucson is also packed with exciting and new convenient features.

Priced at RM151,916.34 (onthe-road price with insurance), the turbocharg­ed 1.6L T-GDI gasoline engine is mated to a seven-speed-dual-clutch transmissi­on (7 DCT).

“This engine will deliver 177PS at 5,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 265NM from 1, 500 to 4, 500 rpm.

“The Hyundai-developed 7DCT will offer an outstandin­g efficiency with quick, seamless shifting and brisk accelerati­on,” Vincent added.

Apart from the new powerful powertrain, the new Tucson is also bundled with convenient features such as LED Positionin­g Headlamps with Static Bending Lights and a smart powered tailgate, which opens at the approach of the key-holder.

The new Tucson also features newly designed 17” rims for a sporty look as well as an option for customers to upgrade to 19” rims.

All Elantra and Tucson variants are entitled to 50,000km free service with a validity of three years.

Hyundai offers a five-year or 30,000km (whichever comes first) warranty on all its new passenger vehicles.

Vincent said a 24-hour road assist service was also now available to new and existing Hyundai vehicles.
