KANGAR: Perlis Mara is inviting young people especially to venture into the food truck business that has great potential and is becoming a trend.

Its director, Zahari Aziz, said Mara would provide qualified applicants with a 100 percent loan up to a maximum of RM250,000 to buy a fully modified truck.

He said the truck would be registered in the applicant’s name and they could decide on the type of vehicle they wanted.

“This food truck business has a bright future and young people aspiring to become entrepreneurs should seize the opportunity,” Zahari told Bernama here.

He invited those who are interested to come to the Mara office to discuss the many programmes organised by the state government for them.

Currently, there are almost 30 food truck business entrepreneurs in Perlis and all have a fixed base in the night market as well as in the day market, he said.

He said it had been proposed to the entrepreneurs to form an association to facilitate Mara coordination and to mobilise their business activities, especially in order to participate in any carnival.

Mara was also in the process of holding talks with the Kangar Municipal Council to secure a permanent site for the food truck entrepreneurs to do business, he said.
