Umno confident BN will win all seats in Kota Belud

-

KOTA BELUD: Kota Belud Wanita Umno chief Eyung Latun is confident that Barisan Nasional will retain the Kota Belud parliamentary seat and its two State Assembly constituencies, namely, Usukan and Tempasuk during the 14th general election (GE14).

She said with the excellent track record of Umno and BN leadership in the parliamentary constituency, the movement was also confident of wresting the Kadamaian State seat which was won by Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) at the last general election.

Kadamaian State Assemblyman Jeremmy Malajad is now an independent candidate supporting BN after leaving PKR in November, 2013.

“Looking at the leadership in the state Assembly constituencies, I am confident Umno and BN will win at the coming general election. They always go down to their constituencies, regardless of time or condition. This is the attitude of the leaders in Kota Belud.

“They always go down to meet the people to strengthen ties. They don’t just stay cooped up in their houses and hear the news,” she told reporters her Hari Raya Aidilfitri Open House, held at her residence here today.

Also present was Minister of Communications and Multimedia, Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak and Usukan State Assemblyman.

“We are also prepared to face the coming general election because immediately after the last general election, we implemented numerous programmes, including ‘ziarah kasih’ at all state constituencies under the Kota Belud Parliamentary constituency and are confident Umno and BN will not be threatened,” she said.

Eyung also praised Salleh’s tireless efforts to meet and mingle with the people in the parliamentary constituency.

“From the start, he had gone down (turun padang) to meet the people, not just during Aidilfitri. In fact, he attends all festivities, including Chinese New Year, Christmas and Kaamatan,” she said.

Earlier, before attending Eyung’s Aidilfitri Open House, Salleh had spent time to visit several open house events in the district including the Datu Rambungan family’s open house in Kampung Bua Pintasan.
