SANDAKAN: The Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) Sandakan welcomes public donation in keeping up with its effort to save injured and abandoned dogs and cats around this district.

As one of the non-profitable organisations actively working to rescue abandoned and injured animals, SPCA Sandakan depends on public support for essential things for the shelter since it was established in 2012.

Its secretary, Voo Min Gin, said all donations would go to the rescued animals, and the operation of the animal shelter.

“This include upgrading and maintaining the animal shelter, medical care for rescued animals, inspectorate, veterinarian expenses, shelter utilities expenses and daily food for the animals.

“As for daily food, the shelter is in dire need for dog and cat dry or wet food, rice, chicken meat or bones and bread,” she told The Borneo Post yesterday.

Apart from that, SPCA Sandakan also welcomes public donation such as used towels and cages for animals at the shelter.

As for now, there are some 200 dogs and cats at the SPCA Sandakan shelter.

The public can send their donation to the shelter of SPCA Sandakan located at Jalan Datuk Tay, Mile 8 during working hours from 8am to 5pm on Monday to Friday or Saturday from 9am to 4pm.

They can also contact Voo at 016-8319119.
