The aim of the visit by Abdul Rashid, who is a former Sabah Police Commissioner and ESSCom commander, is to further strengthen the relationship between NADMA and ESSCom, and to discuss on the cooperation and assistance that could be provided by both agencies, especially in managing disaster and security in the Eastern Sabah Security Zone (ESSZone).

The cooperation would include initiatives to conduct training on charity work that can be participated by all parties, including community leaders at all levels in the near future.

Hazani, in his speech, said that ESSCom will be prepared to provide full cooperation, including mobilization of its asset and manpower, as needed to ensure the success of any activities conducted by NADMA.

He said NADMA’s initiative to conduct training on charity work is necessary to enhance the preparedness level and action that can be taken by the government in facing any disaster that could happen at any time.

“Through this training in charity, NADMA will be able to coordinate the role and responsibility of all parties and ensure the district disaster committee headed by the district officer can prepare a comprehensive plan to face any disaster.

“Cooperation and involvement of all parties, including community leaders, department heads, JKKK chairmen, youths and NGOs is needed to ensure that they know their roles in the event of any disaster,” he added.
