No students bully teachers in Sabah

Sabah Educa on Department director Datuk Hajah Maimunah Suhaibul said the department had not received any report of teachers being bullied by students in schools in the state.

SANDAKAN: State Education Department director Datuk Hajah Maimunah Suhaibul said the department had not received any report of teachers being bullied at schools in the state.

“Up to this date, the department has not received any report related to teachers being bullied, unless there were teachers being victims of bullying but never reported to us.

“I believe most of our students in this state are disciplined and obedient and comply with school rules. If such an incident occurs, it may just be a small matter and manageable.

“But as teachers, we indicate this as a process of teaching and learning at school,” she said this to reporters when asked to comment on the recent case of a teacher being bullied at a school.

Earlier, Maimunah officiated at the launching ceremony of Strategic Plan of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Sandakan at Dewan Ibnu Sina at the school yesterday.

Another program held at the same ceremony was the launching of e-Journal Education SMK Sandakan, e-RPH and Kebitaraan Silat.

Speaking on the e-RPH (Rancangan Pengajaran Harian or Daily Teaching Record), Maimunah said it was one of the good initiatives which was launched at the state level recently.

Through the initiative, she said all schools were asked to provide a teaching record book in virtual form. It can indirectly save the use of books and papers.

“In the past, teachers used a teaching record book where they needed to get them done hand-written.

“But now almost all schools have been using e-RPH and in Sandakan all schools have applied this initiative. We encourage the use of such a method that utilizes the latest technologies.

“This will also help our children with the 21st century teaching and learning that focuses on 4Cs (Creative and Critical thinking as well as Collaboration and Communication).
