Spanish ensemble to conduct authentic Flamenco workshop

KOTA KINABALU: The roots of flamenco art are the foundation­s that support Origen - the first authentic Spanish Flamenco ensemble that will finally set foot in Sabah!

Origen will be having a free workshop at Black Box KK, 8th Floor, Suria Sabah on Wednesday, 19th July, from 8pm to 9pm. Dancers, musicians and music enthusiast­s are all invited to this introducti­on to Flamenco rhythms, structures and dance for beginners.

Origen bring in a pure elements of a concert of Flamenco music and combine with a dance structure on stage, create a magical, audacious and innovative atmosphere, thanks to the relationsh­ip between Flamenco dance and the rest of the musicians. Meet their Flamenco dancers, Christina Carrasco and Javier Serrano, and witness the massive impact they form on stage. They culminate with the force, passion and sweat to show you that this is Flamenco! You will be guided to some of the most characteri­stic Flamenco styles such as Bulería, Tangos, Guajira, Taranta, Malaguena, Jaleos and Rumba.

Origen will be performing live on the main stage at KK Jazz Festival on 22nd July at the Covered Tennis Courts of the Sutera Harbour Marina & Country Club. A must watch pure Flamenco show that will guarantee to give you the music and dance experience of a lifetime.

The 11th edition of the KK Jazz Festival will be held on July 21 to 22 at the Covered Tennis Courts, Sutera Harbour Resort. Doors open at 6pm on both nights and the first evening begins with an opening act at 6.45 pm whilst the second evening begins at 7pm, and ends at about 11pm each night.

Prices for the tickets are RM100 for a one-day pass (per person per night) and RM150 for a two-day pass (per person for two nights). Both tickets are for regular seating on a first come first serve basis. The price for one Premier table is RM1,000 per table per night (maximum of six pax) or RM200 per person per night (maximum of four pax) for a premier seating on sharing basis where table and seats are specially reserved. Food stalls are there serving delicious food for sale.
