To date, RDC in collaboration with members of the Sabah Environmental Education Network (SEEN) and several private agencies have organized 20 EERace courses.

EERace is targeted at school principals in the east coast of Sabah since 2011. In line with the implementation of the Heart of Borneo (HoB) Project, EERace has also been improved to emphasize HoB areas.

EERace is a racing concept that imitates the Amazing Race program to get information about the environment through experimential learning.

Among the environmental themes covered in EERace are forest, wildlife, community, water, power generation, forest resource processing and agricultural resources such as oil palm.

About 70 percent of the course is also concentrated in the field and the assignment is also provided where the information available from the course results will also be shared at the respective schools hereafter in teaching and learning, especially in relation to the environment.

The flag-off and briefing to participants at the RDC were done by RDC manager Bernadette D. Joeman.
