ITF Sabah Taekwondo confident of winning medals at Sarawak invitation­al c’ship

KOTA KINABALU: Coach Rais Japar is optimistic ITF Sabah Taekwondo Associatio­n (PTNSITF) will win medals at the ITF Sarawak Invitation­al Inter-School Taekwondo Championsh­ip.

The tournament will take place at the Polycarp Sim Hall, SM St. Joseph in Kuching from July 2123.

There will be 66 events to be contested in the championsh­ip.

“The Sabah ITF (Internatio­nal Taekwondo Federation) taekwondo squad will comprise new and old faces who will represent their respective schools.

“Sabah too will be competing in the Open category.

“We are optimistic of winning medals in the tournament, which is one of the important platforms to realise PTNSIFT’s long-term plan, that is to form a team to compete in the annual national taekwondo championsh­ip,” he said in a statement yesterday.

The squad consists of Aeron Ibas Jr. a/k Parum, Aerynna Saffiya, Irdynna Saffiya, Muhammad Hijjaz, Nor Sumayyah of SK Kepayan; Muhammad Aiman Zafran Zulfauzy, Khairul Adli, Khairun Nadzmi, Khairul Zuhaili (SK Sri Gaya); Auni Fatini Zulfauzy (Al-Hadanah); Johndez Majidi, Magdalena Majidi (SK Surati); Adzriel Azman (SJK (C) Hwa Shiong); Adzreena Azman (SM Kian Kok); Mohammad Nur Huzairy Henep (SMK Putatan) and Mohd Hashmiejan Hussuien, Nor Azleen Khairina A Aziz (PTNSITF).

The state exponents to compete in the Open category are Mohd Ruslan Noorjaya Chew Abdullah, Husni Fairos Ramli and Ade Rizal Pahlevi Mohd. Zen.
