DiGi upgrades spectrum activation coverage in East Coast

-

KOTA BHARU: Digi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd (Digi) has upgraded the activation of its 900MHz spectrum coverage in the East Coast since July 1 from 1600Mhz previously.

Eastern Region Digi Chief Alan Nui said the higher internet spectrum activation provided stronger indoor coverage, wider outdoor coverage and better internet capacity.

He said the activation covering Gua Musang (Kelantan), Maran, Pekan, Raub, Rompin, Temerloh and Kuantan (Pahang), and Hulu Terengganu, Bera, Dungun and Setiu (Terengganu), involved 80 per cent of the population of the East Coast.

"It also enables us to provide more digital services to customers in the east coast and further enhance Digi's development here," he told reporters at Digi's Aidilfitri open house for the media here yesterday.

Nui said through the 900MHz spectrum, Digi was able to add overlaps to our network and allow customers using the latest equipment to enjoy faster internet experience through LTEAdvanced (LTE-A). tindihan

“Our LTE-A coverage on the East Coast is currently 18 per cent in populated areas.

"By leveraging this strong infrastructure base, we are excited to deliver comprehensive internet and digital services under our newly launched proposition, ‘Freedom to Internet', from music, video, computer games to roaming,” he said.
