Political stability must be appreciated – Yahya

-

PUTATAN: As the country draws closer to the 14th General Election, Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Yahya Hussin has urged the public, especially civil servants, to stand united and not to be swayed by the opposition’s baseless allegations.

“Although we do not really know when is the exact date of the election, we can already feel the heat of it.

“The stable political situation, the harmony and unity that have been built for so long, along with the country’s developments must be appreciated and preserved.

“There is no guarantee that the promises given by all these opposition parties will be fulfilled,” Yahya said when speaking at the 10th anniversary of the Putatan District Office dinner reception yesterday.

Yahya said it is vital for the new generation to understand the history of Putatan’s development.

The good relationship maintained between the district, state and federal leaders had paved the way for a greater Putatan, he stressed.

He also encouraged the people of Putatan to be thankful to the Barisan Nasional government for support and allocation in the district’s infrastructure, road facilities, housing, education and many others.

He cited the Pan Borneo project, which had indirectly given a positive impact to Kampung Ketiau and Kampung Mahandoi.

“When the project has finally been completed, these two villages will definitely turn into one the most developed villages in the district,” he said.

In terms of its housing development, Yahya cited the latest government allocation for an apartment under the Program Perumahan Rakyat (PPR) at Kampung Ketiau and Kampung Meruntum as another example of the government’s efforts in developing Putatan.

Also present in the event were Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister Datuk Edward Yong Oui Fa, Putatan MP Datuk Dr Makin @ Marcus Mojigoh and Putatan District Officer Hj Ag Abdul Ghani Hj Pg Yusof.
