Momogun stays apolitical – Dompok

-

KOTA KINABALU: Momogun National Congress (MNC) founder and honorary advisor Tan Sri Bernard Dompok is happy that the organization is remaining true to being apolitical.

“It is good that we have a constitution that is very clear on these things,” he said at a gathering with MNC members on Monday night.

“There are people connected to the government as well as the opposition sitting in this room tonight but that should not be an issue because MNC is not a political organization,” he stressed.

Dompok added that MNC had a new acting president, Datuk John Maluda after Datuk Henrynus Amin retired to go into active politics.

He also was of the opinion that MNC has the opportunity to tag on to the leadership of all parties in order to make the congress work.

He said it is high time the Momoguns learn how to handle this type of situation, adding, “it is time to reset what we have been doing over the years and it can only augur well for MNC to see a lot of new faces joining it.”

During the dinner, Dompok who is the Malaysian Ambassador to the Vatican, spoke about his experience in Rome for the past year.
