Ralph wins big at Hari Raya Braggers Golf Tourney
KOTA KINABALU: Ralph Kamijan clinched the double at the Hari Raya Braggers Golf Tournament held at the Kinabalu Golf Club in Tanjung Aru on Sunday.
He won both the open and closed categories to emerge as the biggest winner while others came close with strong challenges.
Ralph played a one-under 69 to clinch the open title as Jaini Jeffrey trailed in second spot by one stroke and Desmond Qwek finished third on count back with a 71.
Two others also turned in the same scores, namely Hong Kok Leong and Pius Amir, while Julaiman Soimin was sixth with a 73.
After winning the open, Ralph went on to clinch the closed category which was played using a Braggers Handicap System. Ralph returned with a par 70 to edge Desmond in second spot by one stroke as Cyprinus Amir completed third place on 75.
Julaiman and Lee Siaw Chung were fourth and fifth place winners after they both carded 76 (on count back).
Three other players completed the top eight, namely Darren Duaon (77 nett ocb), Pius (77 nett) and Bong Kui Heng (78 nett).
Braggers president Mohd Ali Beldram together with Queen Elizabeth Hospital medical officer Dr Harkeerat Singh presented the prizes to the winners.
Present to witness at the prize presentation ceremony were deputy president-cum-organising committee chairman Valerian Hansen Petrus, secretary Jimon Jahim and treasurer Boniface Ekol.
