TENOM: Rural Development Minister Datuk Seri Radin Malleh was pleased to learn of Sabah Credit Corporation's (SCC) contribution of RM200,000 for the SJKC Vun Shin pre-school building here.

“I am pleased to see the involvement of SCC, one of the state government agencies known for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives in the development of human resources in the state, especially in this district,” he said at the ground breaking ceremony of the SJKC Vun Shin pre-school building here yesterday.

Radin, who is also Melalap assemblyman, said the contribution by SCC was highly appreciated and should be emulated by other corporate organizations.

He hoped that the contractors involved in the project would ensure that the two-storey building is of good quality and meets the standards which have been set.

In addition, he also hopes that SCC will be able to participate in the development of Melalap New township on the 200 acres of land that will be implemented by the government later.

Radin said pre-school education was a platform for educating children on unity and educators should play their roles and responsibilities to engage in activities that will instil the spirit of patriotism among the younger generation in order to become a responsible Malaysian citizen in line with the spirit of the Rukunegara.

“I hope the eleven teachers including the headmaster at this school will continue to work with dedication to educate the 44 students currently studying at this school.

Also present at the event were SCC Chief Financial Officer, George Taitim Tulas, Melalap Community Development Leader, Simon Mamat, Malaysian Umno Youth Information Chief, Jamawi Jaafar, District Education Officer representative, Sabandi Haji Untong and SJKC Vun Shin Management Board Chairman, Kapitan Chong Yin Choi.
