Papar crime rate down

-

PAPAR: Crime rate in the district of Papar dropped to 45 per cent in the first seven months of this year, said Sabah Deputy Police Commissioner Datuk Razarudin Husain.

Razarudin said this was due to the commitment and efforts taken by the Papar Police (IPD Papar) under the leadership of Papar police chief DSP Nor Azizulkifli Mansor.

“Nor Azizulkifli was appointed as the Papar police chief early this year and during his six months in his new post he managed to reduce the crime rate and solve many cases.

“This shows not only his leadership and capability to lead his team but also shows his commitment and dedication to his job,” said Razarudin during the handing-over of the Papar police chief post from Nor Azizulkifli to his successor DSP Ladamah Hj Sulaiman at the Papar police headquarters, here yesterday.

Razarudin also said that the crime rate in Papar was under control and he believed it would be maintained until end of this year.

“I also believe in the leadership and capability of Ladamah, who is the new Papar police chief that he will continue to maintain the low crime rate in the Papar district.

“I was also made to understand that the communities here have a low fear of crime as everyone knows one another and not forgetting the commitment and efforts by the IPD Papar in their continuous engagement with the public,” he said.

Nor Azizulkifli was previously attached to the Kota Kinabalu Police (IPD KK) for 13 years with his last post as the CID chief, before he was transferred to Papar early February this year.

He will be the new Tawau deputy police chief with the rank of Superintendent when he reports for duty on August 1.
