Umno has brought about transformation in Sabah — Ramlee
SEMPORNA: Umno as the backbone of the Barisan Nasional (BN) has succeeded in bringing transformation and development to the state.
Assistant Minister of Finance Datuk Ramlee Marahaban said that with BN and Umno under the leadership of Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman, development could be felt and seen everywhere.
He said Umno as the core of BN had not only succeeded in developing the state but also united the people.
“I think that it is not fair to compare the development of this State with Sarawak as both states are developing rapidly.
“I believe that the opposition have their own agenda by saying that Sarawak is developing without Umno and comparing it to Sabah,” he said.
According to Ramlee, the role and service of Umno on the development of this state could not be denied.
He said that if there was any party that was not aware of this reality, it was only because they had their own agenda and only aimed to disparage Umno.
“Umno and BN have not only succeeded in developing the state but also successfully developing the community.
“I believe this effort can be seen and felt by all,” said Ramlee when commenting on the statement of Parti Warisan Sabah president, Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal that Sarawak was rapidly developing even without Umno.
Ramlee, who is also Bugaya assemblyman, said this when met after presenting contributions to rebuild the houses of people affected by storm at Kampung Air, yesterday.
He said the government was always striving to assist the people.
He said that it is not true that the government did not care about the people and practised favoritism as alleged by some parties.
“The government is concerned about the people and always provides various facilities for the people.
“We are always with the people and monitor the people’s situation. Assistance will also given to the people accordingly and this is part of our efforts to help them,” he added.
At the ceremony, zink sheets were given to the people whose houses were damaged by storm on Monday.
The contributions were also given to the victims in Kampung Bangau Bangau, Kampung Gading Gading and Pulau Bum Bum.
