-

KOTA KINABALU: TM (Telekom Malaysia) Sabah's Webe kick-off roadshow was launched by Mayor Datuk Yeo Boon Hai at Lintasan Desoaka here yesterday.

Webe is TM's mobile service and is the latest offering in the country's telco market, TM Sabah general manager Sukkriya Masri said.

Sukkriya, when met after the launching ceremony, said Webe is a very simple mobile service where there is no contract but the customer gets unlimited data for a fixed price that is the cheapest in the country for the moment.

Webe currently has about 90 per cent coverage throughout the country, and this is made possible through TM's cooperation with Celcom, he revealed.

“TM is a leading convergence company in Malaysia which offers various communication services and solutions for broadband, data as well as fixed line.

“This is in line with our vision to make lifestyle and business easier for the benefit of the country,” Sukkriya said.

Furthermore, he said this is where Webe comes in as it offers unlimited data at a very low price.

“The kick-off of the roadshow today in every state is to create awareness and promote the service to the public. We will be going to all the districts and towns in Sabah after this to promote it,” he said, adding that those who are interested can apply for the service at any TMPoint outlet or from the website webe. com.my.

During the launch yesterday, Yeo also witnessed the presentation of donation from TM to 10 welfare organisations in Sabah, namely Pertubuhan Kebajikan Saudara Kita, Rumah Anak Kesayangan Sembulan, Persatuan Ibu Tunggal Sabah (Gabungan Ibu Tunggal Daerah Tongod), Sabah Cheshire Home, Rumah Warga Tua Sri Prichard, Rumah Kanak Kanak Beringgis Papar, Sabah Society for the Blind, Perstuan Buah Pinggang Sabah, Special Olmpics Labuan and Darul Bakti.

“TM had reached its target of one million Unifi customers during puasa and proceeds from the sign-ups were donated to more than 100 welfare organisations throughout Malaysia, 10 of which are in Sabah,” he said.
